Escocia Duo Concert

NESCGS and Inverurie Music are presenting an afternoon concert on Sunday January 13th, 3 pm, at the Acorn Centre. The Escocia Duo will be playing music including Farewell to Stromness (arr. Escocia duo) by Peter Maxwell Davies and their own arrangement of Wild Mountain Thyme. Other composers featured in the program are Paganini, Bach , Bartok and Piazzola with lots of folk rhythms and tunes from around the world.

Chilean guitarist Roberto Kuhn and Yorkshire violinist Katrina Lee formed the Escocia Duo whilst each studying for a masters degree at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. As a duo they made their debut performance touring Chile in 2017. Since then they have played a number of recitals in Scotland where they are currently based. In 2013 Roberto Kuhn was given the outstanding performer award by the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile enabling him to study at the Royal Conservatoire. Katrina is Principal 2nd Violin with Scottish Ballet.
